J2J – Journey To Jericho

Breaking Down Walls Only God Can; To Live in the Promises God Has

About us

COURAGE: The quality of mind or spirit that enables a person to face adversity without fear

ROAD BLOCKS

The Homeless Youth in America have to make life-and-death choices at an early age, putting them at a higher risk for violence, drugs, suicide, and poverty.

START THOSE ENGINES

Through J2J Motorsports’ unique garage-based experience, we help young men learn a trade, develop marketable job skills, encounter positive role models, and establish the tools they need to accelerate a life of significance.

Our Mission

J2J Motorsports provides a safe space that uses Industrial Arts as a hands-on, skill building platform to empower young men to develop the life skills and grit needed to envision a better future.

Our Vision

We see a national network of Mentors who take responsibility for the fatherless youth, equipping them with the tools to be strong leaders who serve their communities with strength and courage.

Our Goal

We hope to use the simple passion of auto restoration as a hands-on example of skills-building for young men. Our programs include mentorships and workshops that focus on developing the technical and emotional skills needed to achieve our goals. J2J Motorsports aims to change perspectives of fear and empower young men with truth that will give them the purpose, confidence, and courage to act in wisdom.

TOGETHER, WE CAN MAKE SURE SHORT-TERM STRUGGLES DON’T BECOME LONG-TERM PROBLEMS.

OUR GUIDING PRINCIPLE

Love God and love your neighbor.

There are no greater commandments than these.

Matthew 22:37-40

ABOUT THE FOUNDER

JOSHUA THOMASEC

Joshua Thomasec is a connector; he loves encouraging people to follow their dreams and giving them the tools and guidance they need to do so. He established J2J Motorsports with his wife Heather in 2019 in order to fill a gap in youth development that he himself experienced as a young man.

Joshua grew up in a broken home, lacking confidence and hope. He was failing in school and other aspects of life, creating a cycle of disappointment in himself. When he was 12, this pattern of self-doubt was altered when a couple from his church invited him to learn automotive and welding skills. This was Joshua’s first exposure to positive mentorship and the experience stirred up hope and showed him that he had inherent value.

After failing the 10th grade, Joshua changed his life by seeking out positive role models and strove for a life of his making, rather than of his environment. He later graduated high school with honors, served for 6 years in the Marine Corps infantry, and 14 years as a firefighter and is now serving young men full time at J2J Motorsports.

Joshua’s life was changed by the mentors in it, each one imparting truth and a change in perspective. He saw how working side-by-side on projects could create amazing opportunities to feed into others’ lives and desired to do this on a bigger scale, which is what ultimately led to the establishment of J2J Motorsports.

After going through the struggles of being an at-risk youth, a combat vet, and a firefighter, Joshua fully understands and desires to share the importance of positive mentors.

Joshua and Heather are leading this cause with the same heart and goal: to advocate for and help young men that come from at-risk environments. They have spent many years mentoring youth from the foster system and understand how vital a hands-on approach is to helping young men establish a healthy path and inspire hope for their future.
